Rendering Calculator

Calculate the amount of render needed for external walls. Choose from silicone, acrylic or mineral render types. Coverage rates based on UK manufacturer specifications for 2-coat application.

Calculate: (wall length × height) - windows/doors

Render Coverage Rates

Coverage is based on manufacturer specifications for typical 1.5mm thickness per coat. All render types require 2 coats minimum for external walls, applied 24-48 hours apart.

Render Types

Silicone Render
Most durable, water-repellent, self-cleaning. Coverage: 1.5kg/m² per coat. Best for exposed locations.
Acrylic Render
Flexible, crack-resistant, good water resistance. Coverage: 1.5kg/m² per coat. Good all-rounder.
Mineral Render
Traditional cement-based, highly breathable. Coverage: 1.5kg/m² per coat. Best for solid walls, listed buildings.

Primer Requirements

All render systems require primer before application. Coverage: 1 litre per 5-6m². Always use the primer specified by your render manufacturer to ensure proper adhesion and warranty compliance.

Important: This calculator provides material estimates only. External rendering requires scaffolding, proper surface preparation, and weather-appropriate application. Always use a qualified renderer for external work. Coverage rates from Parex, K Rend and Weber technical data sheets 2026.
